The meeting is underway
its doors to the public more than a month on from the closure of the venue. The Nottingham Castle Trust confirmed on November 21 that it had started the process of entering liquidation, having operated the venue on behalf of Nottingham City Council under an agreement reached in 2017.
The trust said the coronavirus pandemic and inflation were among the reasons why it was "no longer workable" for it to operate the Castle. Other items to be discussed at today's meeting include a proposed increase in councillor allowances which would see some of them getting aTribute being paid to political campaigner 'Bus Pass Elvis' David Mellen is currently giving a tribute to Dave Bishop, a long-standing political campaigner and candidate in Nottingham who died on December 4 at the age of 78.
