Winchelsea, a lesser-known UK town, boasts gorgeous beaches and houses just 600 residents. It also practises unique traditions.
According to Rightmove, house prices in Winchelsea averaged £910,000 last year. Most properties sold were standalone homes, fetching about £872,500 each. This marked the start of a long and proud tradition that continues today, making Winchelsea quite unique. The smallest town in Britain is actually Fordwich in Kent, located near the River Stour close to Canterbury, with only 381 residents. They narrowly beat Winchelsea to this title.
They're mostly located in the part of town nearest to the River Brede. You can see the tops of them from above, but they look much better when you go underneath.
