In a tweet with video of her speech, Lexi wrote, “Used my voice today at the #BLM march in downtown LA. It wasn’t planned and I’m not going to lie, I was nervous; but I’m so glad I did.”
“Yesterday, I talked to Chief Moore and the rest of the LAPD Commission,” Lexi says to the crowd of protestors in the video. “I shared with them [stories] about how LAPD are at all of these peaceful protests and how they have been incredibly disrespectful to people who are simply just asking to be treated equally. All we’re asking is to be treated with the same respect as our white counterparts. That’s it.
