Utterly heartbreaking.
Like any other child his age, Awaab should be out exploring the world, learning, forging friendships and spending time with those who love him. Instead, the little boy barely made it to his second birthday.
Awaab lived at the Ilminster block on the Freehold estate, in Rochdale, which is owned and managed by Rochdale Boroughwide Housing , the Manchester Evening News reports. Awaab’s father Faisal Abdullah had complained about mould in their home even before Awaab was born. Heartbreakingly, one of the images shows Awaab on his second birthday - just over a week before his death. Over the summer, the M.E.N. revealed that other families living on Freehold had also been suffering with severe damp and mould issues.
A number of children had to be rushed to hospital with severe breathing issues. One of them was four-month-old Gabriel.
