More than 50 people, all believed to be migrants, were found dead last week in an abandoned tractor-trailer on the outskirts of San Antonio..
The United States must remain the land of opportunity for all, including immigrants, who add tremendous value to our nation. Migrants can play a vital part in the revival of our economy, especially on the hundreds of ranches, farms and factories in West Texas. Migrant workers should be able to earn income and pay taxes while awaiting their asylum hearing, infusing significant economic return into our communities.
