Danny Shelton and Duron Harmon put the Lions' tally of former New England players to join Detroit this week at three.
Collins, who unlike Shelton played for Lions coach Matt Patricia in New England, is expected to replace Devon Kennard at one starting outside linebacker spot, while Williams should play at least a rotational role on the defensive line.They cut Damon Harrison
The 345-pound Shelton should replace Harrison as the Lions' primary nose tackle. He has just 4 1/2 career sacks but is considered one of the NFL's better interior run defenders. Harmon, who played for Patricia in New England, has 17 career interceptions in 111 games and had 22 tackles and two interceptions last season. He projects to play as a deep safety in the Lions' defense.
The Lions return Tracy Walker at one safety spot, but have juggled personnel at the other safety position since trading Quandre Diggs to the Seattle Seahawks last October.
