Detroit showed off its flashy black alternate threads during the draft.
The Lions' entire draft room—including coach Dan Campbell , general manager Brad Holmes and more—donned black No. 89 jerseys, a nod to the uniform worn by Campbell during his playing days in Detroit.as one of three new threads the Lions will wear in 2024 and beyond. While the Lions' primary home and away jerseys maintained a similar look and colors, the alternate black jerseys were added to the mix, paired with a flashy new blue helmet.
It will be the first time the Lions have worn a black uniform since 2007—back when Campbell was lining up at tight end in Detroit.the team bring the black uniforms back in 2021. Wood said he'd consider it if the team wins the NFC North. Sure enough, the Lions claimed the division title last season—the franchise's first since 1993—and Wood gave the black jerseys the green light.
Detroit, which selected Alabama cornerback Terrion Arnold on Thursday and Missouri cornerback Ennis Rakestraw Jr. on Friday, is set to have five picks on the final day of the draft.
