Linfield Football Club has confirmed that John Robertson and Jack Scott have left the club by mutual consent with immediate effect. Robertson, a Scottish striker, joined Linfield in July and scored one goal in 11 appearances this season. Scott, a Northern Ireland Under 21 international defender, joined the club in the summer and made 14 appearances, scoring three goals. The club has not provided any further comment on the matter.

The Windsor Park club said the pair had left 'by mutual consent ' and with 'immediate effect'.

In a one-line statement posted on their website on Monday night, the Blues said: "Linfield FC can confirm that John Robertson and Jack Scott have both left the club by mutual consent, with immediate effect."Northern Ireland Under 21 international defender Scott joined Linfield in the summer in a two-year deal after being with Wolverhampton Wanderers' Academy.Scottish striker Robertson was another summer arrival, joining the Blues on a two-year contract from Edinburgh City in July.

The pair were not involved in Saturday's match-day squad for the 5-1 win over Loughgall in the Irish Premiership. When contacted about the statement by the BBC, a Linfield spokesperson said the club would not be making any further comment on the matter.
