'We all know that when a pandemic is raging we should not be in school — we should not be having in-person learning,' teacher Chris Guerrieri said. 'It's surreal that they want us to go to school, and that makes it scary.'

“We were very careful,” said Angela Skillings, one of the three teachers who tested positive for COVID-19. School officials said safety measures such as social distancing and frequent handwashing had been in place. Classrooms were arranged with an 8-foot radius around each desk. Students were encouraged to wear face coverings. North Hill Principal Mark Taylor said students were screened for COVID-19 symptoms and their temperatures were taken before they got out of their car on arriving at the building.
