School officials said safety measures such as social distancing and frequent handwashing had been in place. Classrooms were arranged with an 8-foot radius around each desk. Students were encouraged to wear face coverings. North Hill Principal Mark Taylor said students were screened for COVID-19 symptoms and their temperatures were taken before they got out of their car on arriving at the building.
