Sunday's weather will bring in Santa Ana winds in the evening
A weak overnight storm system was expected to come to San Diego from the Northwest, bringing with it light rain throughout much of the county Saturday night into early Sunday morning.The weather will also be breezy across the coastal and inland regions of San Diego, with higher gusts blowing through the mountains and deserts of East County.
Julian, Palomar Mountain, Campo, Descanso, Mount Laguna, Jacumba and Borrego Springs are all under a wind advisory until 5 a.m. Sunday with gusts blowing as high as 25 to 40 mph.Forecasters say rain showers are likely after 11 p.m. in San Diego, which will experience a low of 54 and gusts up to 20 mph. Sunday morning will be partly cloudy before the weather clears, with the day reaching a high of 66.
In Oceanside, showers will mostly fall after midnight as the temperature hits a low around 55. There is a slight chance of rain continuing before noon Sunday, but the weather is expected to be mostly sunny with a high of 55, followed by clear skies in the evening. Sunday night into Monday morning, Santa Ana winds are expected in northern parts of Southern California, with some very light Santa Ana winds predicted to hit the mountains and deserts of San Diego County.
Before Saturday night’s storm, seasonal precipitation at San Diego International Airport was at 5.08 inches, which is about 3 inches below average, the National Weather Service reports.
