I am retired from the U.S. Navy, and I see the men of Ukraine on TV and what they are doing for freedom. I can only describe them one way. These are the kind of men that young boys want to grow up and be like and old men wish they had been like.In most civilized countries, if a person intentionally kills another person without provocation, the killer pays dearly, often with his own life. Yet here we are with Russia invading Ukraine with no provocation whatsoever from Ukraine.
As we witnessed in pre-World War II, the behind-the-scenes attempt to curb the fighting and bring peace did little to save lives. Remember, nothing provoked Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. It’s the blind evil of one man. Sound familiar?Russian President Vladimir Putin has received a firestorm of criticism for his attack on Ukraine and rightfully so. The death and destruction perpetuated on innocent people have horrified and unified the world.
