Leeds United are preparing to host Plymouth Argyle in the Championship at Elland Road on Saturday with seven players in doubt or entirely ruled out of the match
Injuries have been well managed by Leeds United this season when you compare the number of absentees with recent years. There have been a couple of long-standing issues to keep the medical department busy, but there were some fresh doubts flagged by Daniel Farke this week.
Patrick Bamford The 30-year-old is yet to start a match this season after battling with a pre-season hamstring issue, though he has come off the bench seven times for Farke. However, he is in doubt for this weekend’s game. "Charlie Cresswell has missed the beginning of the week due to private reasons, but I hope he's available and we'll have to see,” said Farke. The 21-year-old has since been named in England’s under-21s squad, suggesting he could be available to his club side this weekend.
Joe Gelhardt The striker has been missing from both the under-21 and senior ranks for several weeks now, but fractured his hand before the Leicester City win. However, there was a positive update from Farke this week. Djed Spence Arguably the one absentee people want to see back sooner than anyone. Spence was originally expected to return to play within eight weeks of the club’s September 18 injury update.
