'I thought I was staring death in the face as the water level got higher'
Football fanatic Gary Bowman said he thought he was "staring death in the face" as he drove to the Norwich City V Leeds United match on Saturday, October 21. Due to the extreme weather conditions caused by Storm Babet, Gary became stranded in the River Teme at Eastham near Tenbury Wells in Worcestershire, Birmingham Live reports.
Gary is now recovering from the ordeal. Speaking about his experience the LUFC fan said: "I want to say thank you to Peter for all he did for me. He is an absolute diamond. I thought I was staring death in the face as the water level got higher in my car but Peter kept me calm and helped me get through it all."
