Lee Young Ji expresses her agitation in losing the blue verified checkmark on Twitter
On June 5, Lee Young Ji wrote on Twitter,"
Even if looks like an impersonator account that has a blue checkmark, it's still an official account, so they can't just take away the blue checkmark. Or they shouldn't have given me the blue checkmark to begin with. How can they give it to me and then take it away?" Or they should give at least that 'are you a robot' test and make me find the traffic lights. If I get it wrong, then they should have taken it away.
The 'Blue Checkmark' was previously used on Twitter to mark the official accounts of public figures and celebrities. However, after Elon Musk purchased Twitter, the system changed, and the blue checkmark became available to users under a paid Twitter subscription. Not only Twitter, but Facebook and Instagram also adopted this system and are providing blue checkmarks to anyone who is using the paid subscription features.
