Controversial Nottinghamshire MP Lee Anderson was angrily shouted at by a furious local as he embarked on a bus tour of his constituency. Ashfield MP Lee Anderson toured the Nottinghamshire district on Friday, March 15, in a bus daubed in the colours and logos of Reform UK - which he recently switched to after being suspended by the Conservative party.
First elected as the Conservative MP for Ashfield at the 2019 general election, Mr Anderson had been an independent MP since February 24 after the Tories suspended him for comments about "Islamists". Mr Anderson defected to Reform UK on Monday, March 11, and started his "day of action" bus tour for the party in Kirby-in-Ashfield.
But one dissatisfied local was not excited about his presence in Ashfield and used strong language to express her dislike of the divisive MP. In a video that has since been widely shared on social media, she shouted "Lee, you're a f****** w*****", before having a heated argument with a Reform supporter.Mr Anderson later posted to X, formerly known as Twitter, to criticise a member of the media who reported the row and label the woman's actions "disgraceful".
Meanwhile, the Conservative Party's chairman says "nothing is off the table" when asked if they would welcome Lee Anderson back nearly a month after suspending him.
