Irish premier Leo Varadkar has warned the Israeli government that international solidarity with it following the Hamas attacks could 'evaporate' if its response in Gaza is disproportionate. 'Ireland's position is very clear on this - Israel is a democratic state, it's a sovereign state, it is a state that is internationally recognised, it has a right to exist,' he said.
