But Tuesday’s departure didn’t materialize — at least not from Kelly Field, on the city’s Southwest Side. It’s unclear why. Airfield employees declined to comment. DeSantis defended his tactics on Sean Hannity’s Fox News talk show on Monday night, saying the immigrants had been rescued from destitution on the streets of San Antonio.
“And why wouldn’t they want to go given where they were?” he added. “They were in really, really bad shape. They got to be cleaned up, treated well.”“What we’ve been able to show is that the border is a disaster,” he told Hannity.
