The foreign secretary wants Israel to increase capacity to safely distribute aid within Gaza. It comes as a report from the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) warned 'famine is imminent'.
The UK has provided food for 275,000 people in Gaza as Foreign Secretary Lord Cameron called for 'sustained humanitarian access' to the territory's besieged population. More than 2,000 tonnes of food aid distributed by the UK has crossed the border and will be distributed by the World Food Programme .
' The foreign secretary wants Israel to increase capacity to safely distribute aid within Gaza, such as by opening a land crossing in the north and issuing more visas to UN staff to deliver supplies.
