A large branch of a tree in a Potong Pasir open HDB carpark broke off in heavy rain on Thursday morning .shared photos of a Lexus RX badly damaged by the fallen tree branch. The windshield of the sports-utility vehicle was smashed and the branch was still on the dented bonnet.
In response to a Stomp query, Jalan Besar Town Council said it was alerted to the incident at the carpark near Block 145 Potong Pasir Avenue 2. "At the time of the incident, it was raining heavily and the wind was also strong, factors which could have contributed to the branch snapping," said the town council.
"We are currently in contact with the car owner and will render the necessary assistance to him on the matter."
