A Lancaster teen was sentenced Tuesday to 16-32 years in prison for shooting three people at Park City Center in 2021, according to the district attorney's office. Jeremiahs Sanchez , who is now 19, pleaded guilty to four counts of aggravated assault , 52 counts of recklessly endangering another person and other offenses.Prosecutors said Sanchez got into a fight with two others inside the mall on the afternoon of Oct. 17, 2021, and opened fire with a stolen gun.
A bystander with a legal firearm shot at Sanchez in defense of himself and others and removed Sanchez's gun from the situation.The defense argued Sanchez didn't start the fight, and the two men approached him from behind to initiate the confrontation.Judge Dennis Reinaker, who imposed the sentence, said there was one 'inescapable' fact.'The other two didn't have guns. was the only one to bring a gun into the mall that day,' he said.
