A corner of Lancashire has been named the happiest place to live in the UK, according to a survey. The spot came first in a survey based on categories such as green spaces, weekly earnings, crime, and unemployment rates. Ribble Valley, with its low crime rate and abundance of green and blue spaces, scored the highest in the study.
It will surely come as no surprise to the many people who call it home, but a corner of Lancashire has been named the happiest place to live in the UK. Billed as a perfect place to escape the frantic pace of everyday life, the spot came first in a survey based on a number of categories including green spaces , weekly earnings , crime, and unemployment rates . Residents also enjoy one of the highest weekly earning rates (£825) in the top 10 and the lowest unemployment rate of 1.
9 The study ranked local authorities on a score up to 100. And our very own Ribble Valley came in top of the pile with a score of 78.95 out of 100. Data showed that Rible Valley has the lowest crime rate on the list, with 37.1 incidents per 1,000 population, as well as an abundance of green and blue spaces (751.4 hectares per 1,000 population).
