Police officers in Lanarkshire have issued advice to residents on how to keep their homes safe as the nights gets darker earlier.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Use timer switches on lights to make it look as if your home is occupied. “Ensure all doors and windows are locked and secure when you leave and when you go to bed.
