The site is located in Ullswater and is the AA Campsite of the Year

A stunning holiday park where you can stay in an underground 'hobbit hole', glamping pod and open campfire and wood-fired pizzas has been named the best in the UK.

It is also popular for offering a range of quirky and luxurious accommodation and high-standard facilities, while the onsite pub and cafe, which serves fresh pizzas is a big hit with families. The '90% self-sufficient' glamping site also offers wooden glamping pods, gingerbread houses, a cottage and of course, the Hobbit-style camping burrows.

"Caravans, motorhomes and tents enjoy well-sized terraced pitches and fantastic glamping options including the burrows and gingerbread houses. This is a site justifiably proud of its green credentials and very much ahead of the norm.
