The Los Angeles Fire Department has successfully put out a fire at a building in Downtown Los Angeles Friday morning.
LAFD responded to the 600 block of S. San Pedro Street shortly before 7 a.m. Friday. According to the department, the fire started as a trash fire outside of the ABC Toys building, before moving into the building.More than 100 firefighters were assigned to fight the blaze. The department says that firefighters made good progress on the first floor of the building, but access to the upper levels was more difficult. Shortly after 7:30 a.m., the department announced the fire was a knockdown.
No injuries were reported. While LAFD believes they know the cause of the fire, arson officials are investigating as per department protocol.
