With undecideds removed, 38% said they intended to back Labour at the next election, compared to 32% for the SNP
The Scottish opinion monitor, conducted by YouGov on behalf of the Scottish Election Study, polled 1,244 voters north of the border in late October.Only 53 per cent of those who said they supported indyref2 also backed the SNP, a significant decline from previous elections when this figure regularly exceeded 80 per cent.
Among those who voted Conservative in 2019, 48 per cent said they would do so again, while 18 per cent are likely to vote Labour. “Labour are currently attracting voters from all the other major parties, and picking up around 20 per cent of Yes supporters in Westminster vote intention. Scottish Labour’s deputy leader Jackie Baillie said the poll’s findings showed that “the people of Scotland are sick and tired with SNP and Tory failure”.
