Police have released a description of the suspect
A knifeman grabbed a woman as she walked along a canal path in Stockport and threatened her for money.
The woman thankfully escaped the ordeal uninjured. Detectives investigating the attempted robbery have now released a description of the suspect. The man was wearing a black and grey face covering at the bottom of his face at the time, with a long, black puffer coat with a hood, black tracksuit bottoms and black trainers.Police Constable Steven Reed from GMP's Stockport division said: "We understand this will cause some concern to the local public, but I can assure residents in the area we are taking this incident very seriously and conducting all lines of enquiry to ensure we find the person responsible.
"We urge anyone who may have been in the area that afternoon to come forward. No matter how small you think the information may be, it could prove vital to the investigation and identify the suspects."
