Rep. Adam Kinzinger reveals more witnesses but no corroboration of 'inspiring' Cassidy Hutchinson
He didn't name names, but Rep. Adam Kinzinger , one of two Republicans on the panel, told CNN on Sunday that the 25-year-old former White House aide was"inspiring for a lot of people."
The congressman said,"Yes," when asked if new witnesses have come forward since Hutchinson testified. However, Kinzinger insisted more people are lining up to speak with congressional investigators all the time, not just after this one hearing.Hutchinson's testimony has come under increasing scrutiny and faced some pushback.
An area of significant focus has been the story of a wild presidential SUV ride on the day of the Capitol riot. Hutchinson testified that she heard that Trump grabbed at the steering wheel and used his free hand to"lunge" at the neck of his head of security when told on Jan. 6 after his speech on the Ellipse that they could not head to the Capitol.
Refusing to budge, Kinzinger said he was"not going to say what we do or don't have in terms of corroboration." Still, he said, the committee finds Hutchinson to be"credible" and predicted people will not soon forget her name.
