King Charles is visiting York this morning to unveil a statue of his late mother at York Minster. The 6ft 7in statue was chosen by the late monarch and was intended to honour the Queen in her Platinum Jubilee year.
Richard Bossons , from the cathedral's masonry team, said his design would complement the medieval facade of the 800-year-old building. It was carved from a block of Lepine stone, a French limestone previously used for other figurative carvings at the cathedral.
