King Charles III coins to enter circulation, Royal Mint confirms
King Charles III visisted the offical maker of UK coins the Royal Mint, in Llantrisant, Rhondda Cynon Taf, in 2011
The King will replace his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, to become the first king on British coins since 1952. They will be slowly replaced over time as they become damaged or worn, and to meet demand for additional coins., when all UK coins were replaced, it was common for coins featuring different monarchs to co-circulate, which will be the case after these new ones are minted.
