King Charles granted his younger brother, Prince Edward. their late father, Prince Philip's, former title, the Duke of Edinburgh.
On Friday, Queen Elizabeth's youngest child rang in his 59th birthday and, in celebration of the occasion, the new monarch granted him their late father, Prince Philip's, former title, the Duke of Edinburgh.
Prince Philip died in April 2021 at the age of 99. His longtime wife, the former queen, died just over a year later at 96 years old. The press release concluded,"The new Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh are proud to continue Prince Philip’s legacy of promoting opportunities for young people of all backgrounds to reach their full potential."
