The King, who was Prince of Wales for more than 53 years, will return to London after his visit for a vigil beside the Queen's coffin at around 7.30pm.
King Charles and the Queen Consort have arrived in Wales for their first visit since the death of the Queen.
They are attending a remembrance service for the Queen at Llandaff Cathedral in Cardiff before the King meets members of the public and the First Minister of Wales Mark Drakeford. As they arrived in the country by helicopter, guns were fired before the couple were driven to the cathedral where Prime Minister Liz Truss is among those present.
