Saskatchewan Roughriders rookie receiver Keith Corbin III is happy to hear his number 80 called as much as it has been in CFL pre-season.
Riders head coach Craig Dickenson says that Corbin has been trending upwards throughout camp.Dickenson, whose team heads to Winnipeg to play the Blue Bombers on Friday night to close out the pre-season.
“Early, it was really new to him, all the motion and all the movement but, as he’s gotten his legs under him, he’s gotten better and better each day. He had a really nice game and had, really, what I felt like great energy throughout the game. Not only was he playing well, he was supporting his teammates. He really did a nice job of all the way round.”
Corbin joined the Riders after spending the 2021 season at Jackson State University, racking up 69 receptions for 921 yards and seven touchdowns in 13 games while playing for Deoin Sanders. He was named to the All-South West Athletic Conference second-team offence for his efforts.Article content Prior to that, he spent five years at the University of Houston from 2016-20. In 41 games, Corbin recorded 94 catches for 1,467 yards and 13 TDs.“It felt good,” said Corbin. “I felt it coming. I knew it was coming. I was just waiting for my opportunity.”“I liked it. I like the fan base — they’re crazy.”“It was a lot of exposure,” replied Corbin. “He taught me how to be a pro early and it led on to this, so I was prepared coming to this. I was ready.
