Vice President Kamala Harris’ motorcade reportedly drove right past a pipe bomb planted outside the Democratic National Committee headquarters on January 6 amid rioting on Capitol Hill, according to CNN, and stayed inside the building for hours before the explosive device was discovered.pandemic at the Lincoln Memorial on the eve of the presidential inauguration on January 19, 2021, in Washington, D.C.Multiple sources told the outlet Harris arrived at the DNC headquarters at 11.30 a.m.
Harris was being protected by the Secret Service, which swept the building, the driveway, parking deck and entry and exit ways before the then vice president-elect arrived, according to CNN. The person who planted the bomb—who is also suspected of rigging a similar explosive device discovered at the Republican National Committee headquarters—has not beenrequest for comment to the Secret Service, which did not immediately respond.Security footage released by the FBI shows the bombs—which never went off—being planted the evening of January 5.
