Washington D.C. Police said a 15-year-old boy was shot dead and three adults were wounded in the shooting.
Contee said several people were hurt in the rush to leave the area and were being assisted by public safety first responders when the shooting occurred, Contee said.
A handgun was recovered from one of the victims but not the firearm believed to have caused the death and injuries, Contee said. No police fired their weapons and there was no exchange of gunfire, he added. Contee said officials will be speaking to the event's organizers and considering what legal action could be taken because the event lacked a permit.
