Joseph Eskenazi turned 105 on Jan. 30. His birthday wish — to live to 120.
"He never, never got stressed over anything," said family friend Linda Candioty.
Shortly before his birthday, Eskenazi was gifted with a trip to the World War II Museum in New Orleans, thanks to the Gary Sinese Foundation and Amtrack. "We always call him a hero, and he always corrected me and said, 'I'm a survivor,'" said granddaughter Marcella Mastrangelo. "I don't let anything bother me too much," he said. "Just like a bird, they get wet, and they just shake it off."
