The items are believed to have been created around 1961
A collection of nonsense poems, drawings and other jottings by a young John Lennon will head to auction on Tuesday . The works are expected to sell for over £10,000 and are believed to have been created around 1961 at Astrid Kirchherr’s flat in Hamburg. The items offer a 'glimpse into a 21-year-old Lennon’s creative mind during a formative period of his artistic journey'.
The items come from a private German collection and will be auctioned by Merseyside-based Omega Auctions in a ‘Beatles Collection’ auction in Newton-le-Willows on October 15, with a starting price of £10,000. Other artefacts for sale include a two-hour recording of a 'long-lost' interview given by The Beatles for a feature in Playboy magazine, and a Beatles poster from New Brighton , 1962.
