Jennifer Hudson, JohnLegend & more are set to perform at this year's Global Citizen Prize award ceremony
will take the stage to perform at this year's Global Citizen Prize award ceremony. Chris Martin and H.E.R. will also perform as special guests.
Legend will also serve as the evening's host. The ceremony celebrates the world’s most inspiring activists who are working to end extreme poverty in five categories: artist, business leader, world leader, Cisco Youth Leadership Award and Global Citizen of the Year. The Global Citizen Prize is the first major event of the organization's 2020 campaign, Global Goal Live: The Possible Dream, to get the world back on track to achieve the United Nations Global Goals by 2030. Working alongside the United Nations, the campaign will call on governments, philanthropists and the private sector to take responsibility and provide the $350 billion needed annually for people and the planet to achieve the Global Goals in the poorest countries.
The event takes place on Dec. 13 at the Royal Albert Hall in London, but the televised special will air Dec. 20 at 8 p.m. EST on NBC. MSNBC will then air the special on Dec. 22 at 10 p.m. EST and re-air to ring in the new year on Dec. 31 at 11 p.m. EST.
