Mr Belfield appeared before Manchester Crown Court this morning
A man accused of the murder of Thomas Campbell has appeared before a judge. John Belfield is accused of the murder of Thomas Campbell, who died following an incident at his home in Tameside in July 2022.
He has been charged with murder, conspiracy to murder, manslaughter, conspiracy to rob and conspiracy to supply class A drugs. Mr Belfield, 29, appeared before Manchester Crown Court this morning for a preliminary hearing, after the case was transferred by magistrates. He appeared in court via video link.During the short hearing, a date was set for a further hearing in April where Mr Belfield is expected to be asked to enter his plea to the charges. A trial date was not scheduled.
Mr Belfield was remanded in custody. Mr Campbell, 38, was discovered dead at his home in Mossley, Tameside, at about 10.30am on Sunday July 3, 2022.
