The Las Vegas Aces made their celebratory trek to the White House on Friday, but Joe Biden was not there to greet them.
Despite a previous announcement that Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden would be on-hand to honor the WNBA champions, the Bidens opted to extend their vacation, according to multiple reports.“When they initially announced this event, it said the president and the first lady were going to host the Aces today,” Fox News White House reporter Peter Doocy“But then, they extended their vacation. They were supposed to get back yesterday, now they don’t get back until tomorrow.
The AP also reported that the White House announcement “several weeks ago” said the Bidens would host the Aces, but that they delegated to the vice president after extending their vacation.In June, Aces star A’ja Wilson called out president Biden for congratulating the Golden Knights on their Stanley Cup championship.
