: Former Vice President Joe Biden, who is entangled in the impeachment inquiry against President Donald Trump, made his most forceful statement against the president yet, calling for his impeachment for the first time: “To preserve our Constitution, our democracy, our basic integrity, he should be impeached,” he said.
“President Trump has indicted himself by obstructing justice, refusing to comply with the congressional inquiry, he’s already convicted himself. In full view of the world and the American people, Donald Trump has violated his oath of office, betrayed this nation and committed impeachable acts,” Biden said in a town hall in New Hampshire, according toTrump immediately responded to Biden’s statement on Twitter.
Before today, Biden had never outright said that Trump committed impeachable acts, despite being in the middle of the scandal himself. He said last month that Trump should be impeached only if he doesn’t comply with Congressional subpoenas, according to: House Democrats have launched an impeachment inquiry into Trump in response to a phone call between Trump and Ukraine’s president, Volodymyr Zelensky.
