Jimmy Kimmel took three Republican senators to task for their attempted defamation of Ketanji Brown Jackson's character.
“Three of them in particular—[Josh] Hawley, [Lindsey] Graham, and [Ted] Cruz—have been putting on a three-ring circle jerk this week, desperately trying to get a sound bite that might make it onto Fox News,” he said.
Kimmel highlighted the hypocrisy of Hawley, the Republican senator from Missouri and, as the late-night host explained, “has been working so hard to insinuate that Judge Jackson—a Harvard-educated, 51-year-old mother of two daughters—is somehow cool with child pornography.
The clip then pans to an embarrassed Hawley, scowling in his seat. “And at that moment, for the first time in his life, Josh Hawley realized that he sucks,” quipped Kimmel. Kimmel also had plenty of fire in his tank for the only Republican woman on the judiciary committee, Senatorfrom Tennessee. Blackburn tried to bait Jackson into a transphobic argument about gender expression, asking the Supreme Court nominee if she could “provide a definition for the word ‘woman’?” Judge Jackson demurred, replying “Not in this context. I’m not a biologist.”
Kimmel, however, had an answer for Blackburn: Cue Kimmel: “Hold on, I know the answer: You are a horrible woman.”
