Free-agent pickup Tyron Smith might be the most important addition of this eventful Jets’ offseason. And he might have the murkiest future.
“I mean, to play football at the level he has for such a long time. It’s a great feeling just being able to see him over there in the huddle.”Late Wednesday morning, about an hour before practice, the first report emerged: former Bears star running back Tariq Cohen had agreed to sign with the Jets.
But with Breece Hall as the only running back on the roster, other than Cohen, perhaps he can fight for a job in that room at the still-young age of 28. It’s still early, obviously, but something to think about.Jets rookie receiver Malachi Corley started practice going through individual drills, but left the field with a trainer just before team drills got going.
Anyway, when Rodgers came off the field there was obviously a moment of consternation and concern for everyone nearby, including the team’s co-owner and vice chairman Christopher Johnson.
