The airline has announced it could be cutting hundreds of jobs, which could affect people who travel to holiday hotspots such as Lanzarote and Tenerife.
Jet2 has issued a warning message which could affect holidaymakers travelling to the Canary Islands, with the airline saying it 'deeply regrets' the news.
The proposed job losses faced by 996 staff members in Alicante, Palma de Mallorca, Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, and Fuerteventura will be negotiated with unions within the next 30 days. It's thought that around 35 percent of these staff members could be made redundant. It was halted temporarily due to the Covid pandemic, and restarted again last June. However, many people now face losing their jobs after just 10 months of the service starting back up again.
There is also no date on when the staff that operate will be finding out the fate regarding their futures. A Jet2 spokesperson said: "We have recently reviewed our operations in Spain. As a result, we must sadly propose a number of colleague redundancies across resort flight check-in, flight deck and cabin crew roles.
