After spending 14 years as principal at Central Dauphin East High School, he has begun his first week in a similar role at Cumberland Valley, a job he calls a new and unique challenge.
After 14 years at Central Dauphin East, Jesse Rawls Jr. will start the 2022-23 school year at a new high school campus: Cumberland Valley.
“Cumberland Valley is an excellent school district, and working at a school the size of CV was a unique challenge,” Rawls said Wednesday. Rawls said after talking to the district assistant superintendent, Mark Blanchard, that it was the district’s belief in him “in terms of being a person who could make a difference” that persuaded him. “I decided it was something I wanted to do,” he said.
“I know they know how much I love them and cared about them,” Rawls said during an interview Wednesday.
