Jerome won the first two sets and regrouped after Orange took the next two, earning its first district championship with a 25-22, 25-20, 20-25, 15-25, 15-9 victory Oct. 29 at Whitehall.

Coffman built an 11-6 lead on a serving ace by Leah Shumate. It then got a kill by Kyan Young to make it 13-10 and a kill by Ella Durham for a 14-12 lead before Addison Freed served for the final point of a 25-20, 25-21, 19-25, 20-25, 15-12 victory at Whitehall. “We fought hard after being down 0-2 and we could have easily given up in that third set,” said Central coach Jeannie Krueger, whose team finished 21-5.The top-seeded Patriots, last year’s state runners-up, won their fourth consecutive district championship with a 25-9, 25-17, 25-11 win over the 11"We are a pretty good well-rounded team. We don't have to rely on one person to get all of our points," Liberty coach Jen Chapman said.

Senior setter Elise Adelman played her final match for the Warriors, who went 88-12 in her four seasons.
