History: A win for Hudson makes her just the 17th person to achieve the EGOT, which has been referred to as the 'grand slam' of show business: Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony A Strange Loop led this year's Tony Award nominations with 11, including Best Book Of A Musical for Michael R. Jackson, Best Performance By A Featured Actress In A Musical for L Morgan Lee, Best Performance By A Leading Actor In A Musical for Jaquel Spivey and Best Performance By A Featured Actor In A Musical for John-Andrew Morrison, among others.
And then there's her Oscar trophy for Dreamgirls, which she took home in 2007 for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Effie White, which was said to be inspired by Supremes member Florence Ballard.
