Japanese face mask maker Iris Ohyama is set to become the first Japanese company to receive a government subsidy to shift production out of China under a new programme, Nikkei Asia Review reported on April 21.

Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on March 5 told the Council of Investments for the Future that he wanted high value-added product manufacturing to relocate to Japan. “And for everything else, we should diversify to countries like those in ASEAN," he added.
