James Martin, the popular ITV chef, playfully walked off the set of Saturday Morning after First Dates star Merlin Griffiths asked him about air frying. During a cooking segment with Romy Gill, who was preparing a Punjabi street food recipe, Merlin wondered if the deep-fried bread could be cooked in an air fryer instead.
TV chef James Martin expressed his dislike for air fryers at the BBC Good Food Show Winter event in Birmingham's The NEC last November. Cooking up his take on KFC, he strongly told show-goers: "I don't use an air fryer. In my opinion they should be banned." While preparing his chicken dish, the chef further stated, "I don't even want to speak to anyone that has an air fryer. You can't do this in a bl***y air fryer. It's got to be deep fried to get the colour, texture and flavour", reports Gloucestershire Live.
The Lygon Arms in Broadway is home to two of James Martin's restaurants. There's the cosy Tavern which makes for a delightful pub experience with a variety of nibbles, and Grill. Grill offers a range of delectable dishes under its stunning vaulted ceiling and caters for more formal celebrations.
