That’s not far off the normal highs for this time of year — 95-96. And it’s tradition that it’s hot during the Days of ‘47 Parade, which begins on Saturday at 9 a.m.. The average high temperature on July 23 for the past five years — and for the past 10 years — is 96. That’s ranging from 89 in 2015 to 103 in 2014, and it also hit triple digits in 2013 and 2019.
It will, of course, be cooler than 97 at 9 a.m. on Saturday. Probably the upper 70s-low 80s. But it will likely be in at least the low 90s before the parade is over. And it will be hotter than that on Salt Lake City streets and sidewalks. The forecast calls for mostly sunny skies. But it’s definitely going to be sweltering across Utah — the mid- to upper 90s in Provo and Logan; the high 80s to low 90s in Park City; the low to mid-90s in Cedar City; and 101-109 in Moab.The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat warning for southernmost Utah will be in effect from noon Thursday until 9 p.m. Friday.
