“SBC, TCS, Mediacorp will always be my second home in memories from Jan 5, 1987, to Jan 31, 2023,” he wrote, referring to the Singapore Broadcasting Corporation and Television Corporation of Singapore, the previous names of the television station. In an interview with CNA after the news broke, he revealed that he had tendered his resignation in July 2022, adding: “My family didn’t know. It’s my decision. It’s not illegal. It’s just that, at this stage, I feel I’ve given the best I have to offer.”
